The Capitals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first game by a margin of 60 runs after posting a total of 223 runs for the loss of two wickets. Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma added 162 runs for the first wicket. Marizanne Kapp and Jemimah Rodrigues continued the show after the starters were fired. Tara Norris was the bowlers’ choice as she became the first bowler to win a quintile in WPL. A left-arm pacer from the United States of America, Norris picked five wickets for 29 runs and took the Man of the Match award.

The Warriorz won their first game against the Gujarat Giants by three wickets in the penultimate installment after chasing the 170-run target. The Giants made 169 runs for the loss of six wickets while batting first. In response, the Warriorz lost three wickets inside the power play, and it looked as though the Giants might dominate on the ball as well. However, Kiran Navgire and Grace Harris had different plans. Both scored a half century and helped the team to a quick recovery. Harris scored 59 runs in 26 deliveries and won the Man of the Match award.
