It was not an unplayable surface sairaj bahutule

Sairaj Bahutule praised the Indian batsmen for rising to the challenge and the bowlers for delivering as a unit on a good Test ground. He pointed out that the all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, who batted in the lower order, scored fifty in a field where neither Australia batsman scored a half-century.

“I thought it was a proper Test wicket. Now, this is India and obviously, you know, we’ll play to our advantage. Having said that, it was not an unplayable surface as such. Rohit (Sharma) got a hundred in the same throw. And as you know, the 7 (Jadeja) scored 70 and the 9 (Axar) scored 84, which shows that if one could apply, there were chances to get runs. Having said that, we have an attack that can work well on any surface.” Bahutule said.

Former Indian cricketer Sairaj Bahutule is the Spin Bowling Coach for the Cricket Control Board of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) of India (BCCI). The Indian team management selected the Mumbai leg spinner to assist the Indian spinners during the test series.
